The Dominion Command Sports Committee is calling for applications from any branch to host any one of the Dominion Member Sports Championships (Darts and Cribbage). An outline application to host is attached. DATES 2. The following dates for the 2018 Dominion Member Sport Championships have been approved by the Dominion Command Sports Committee: a. Cribbage: Friday 27 April - Monday 30 April (Friday and Monday being arrival and departure days respectively); b. Darts: Friday 4 May - Monday 7 May (Friday and Monday being arrival and departure days respectively); and HOSTING REQUIREMENTS - GENERAL 3. The basic requirements of the application process are contained in the Dominion Command Sports Guide located on the national Legion web site at GÉNÉRALITÉS 1. Le Comité des sports de la Direction nationale lance un appel à toutes les filiales qui souhaiteraient accueillir un championnat national de sports pour membres (fléchettes et cribbage). Un formulaire de demande d accueil est joint. DATES 2. Le Comité des sports de la Direction nationale a approuvé les dates suivantes pour la tenue des championnats nationaux de sports pour membres en 2017 : a. Cribbage : du vendredi 27 avril au lundi 30 avril (vendredi et lundi sont les jours d arrivée et de départ respectifs); b. Fléchettes : du vendredi 4 mai au lundi 7 mai (vendredi et lundi sont les jours d arrivée et de départ respectifs). CRITÈRES POUR L ACCUEIL - GÉNÉRALITÉS 3. Applications to host the 2018 Dominion Member Sports Championships are due to Dominion Command by September 30 th, Submissions will be reviewed and considered by the Dominion Command Sports Committee at its fall 2016 meeting. All applicants and their provincial commands will be notified of the Sports Committee's decisions by December The following gives an additional outline of the requirements: a. Participants: An approximate total of participants can be expected for each championship. Also in attendance will be the Dominion Command Sports representative and a Legion Magazine staff writer. b. Accommodation: It is suggested that approximately hotel rooms be reserved for each championship. c. Branch Requirements: Hosting branches are expected to organize the championship in accordance with the Dominion Sports Guide and the instructions provided by Dominion Command. Major administrative requirements are: Coordinate a competition schedule and arrange for the competition venue; Coordinate accommodation by block booking a host hotel; Provide competitor transport between the airport to the host hotel; Provide competitor transport between the host hotel and the branch; Provide a meal plan that includes complimentary lunches for competitors during competition; Arrange a final banquet; and Produce an event booklet. d. Grants: Branch and transportation grants are available to the s/. Les demandes d accueil des championnats nationaux de sports pour membres de 2018 sont requises à la Direction nationale d ici le 30 septembre Le Comité des sports de la Direction nationale examinera et considèrera les demandes lors de sa réunion à l automne 2016 et fera part de sa décision aux demandeurs et directions provinciales au plus tard en décembre Voici un aperçu des exigences d accueil : a. Participants : On peut s attendre à un total d environ 60 à 65 participants à chaque championnat. Le représentant des sports de la Direction nationale et un rédacteur attitré de la revue Légion seront aussi présents. b. Hébergement : On suggère de réserver environ 40 à 45 chambres d hôtel pour chaque championnat. c. Au niveau de la filiale : Toute filiale d accueil est tenue d organiser le championnat en vertu du Guide des sports de la Direction nationale et des instructions de la Direction nationale. Voici les principales exigences administratives : Coordonner l horaire des matchs et obtenir le site des compétitions; Coordonner l hébergement en arrangeant une réservation de groupe à l hôtel d accueil; Fournir le transport aux compétiteurs de l aéroport à l hôtel d accueil; Fournir le transport aux compétiteurs de l hôtel d accueil à la filiale; Fournir un plan repas y compris les déjeuners sans frais pour les compétiteurs durant les compétitions; Organiser le banquet de clôture; et Produire un livre-souvenir. d. 4 Local Arrangements Committee (LAC). These grants must be requested in writing by the host branch and are made available in the year of the championship. The branch and transportation grant amounts for darts and cribbage is as follows: branch grant - $800; transportation grant up to $1500. The transportation grant depends on the proximity of the airport to the host venue. EVENT SUBMISSIONS 4. Submissions are to be made by individual branches and must be submitted through their respective provincial command in the format attached. Provincial commands are asked to prioritize the applications they receive before submitting them to the Dominion Command Sports Committee for consideration. La filiale d accueil devra solliciter ces subventions par écrit, et celles-ci seront disponibles durant l année du championnat.
