1 FICHE D INFORMATION N O 2 15 ième Réunion des Partenaires du PFBC - du 17 au 19 juin 2015 à Yaoundé Quelques informations utiles pour Hôtel Visa - Visite Terrain Cher(e) Partenaire, La Facilitation du PFBC vous remercie d avoir fait votre enregistrement en ligne en vue de votre participation à la 15 ième Réunion des Partenaires (RdP) du PFBC et aux Réunions connexes qui se tiendront du 15 au 19 juin 2015, à Yaoundé. Les inscriptions sont maintenant closes et le lien pour s inscrire a été désactivé. Logement - Hôtel Vous trouverez sous le lien qui suit de l information sur les hôtels pour lesquels la Facilitation a négocié des tarifs préférentiels : rac.pfbc- cbfp.org/logistique.html Noter que les hôtels recommandés dans le lien ci- dessus sont aussi ceux à partir desquels le transport des participants sera assuré jusqu au lieu des réunions et retours. Les participants qui logeront en dehors de ces hôtels ne bénéficieront pas du transport organisé par le Comité d organisation. Si vous souhaitez faire une réservation d une chambre dans l hôtel de votre choix, bien vouloir noter que le Comité d organisation a réquisitionné un nombre limité de chambre par hôtel pour les participants. La nuitée s élève de à FCFA, soit environ USD 40 à FCFA, soit environ USD 220. Pour réserver, veuillez contacter les hôtels via les adresses mails indiqué sur le lien ci- dessus (voir table sur la page logistique du site web de la RDP : rac.pfbc- cbfp.org/logistique.html ). Pour effectuer votre réservation, veuillez fournir le code de bloc de cet évènement, à savoir PFBC (suivant la liste proposée). Les chambres seront réservées suivant le principe «premier arrivé, premier servi» et le bloc sera valable jusqu au 20 mai Passé ce délai, les directions des hôtels annuleront le bloc et mettra les chambres à la disposition du public - Bien vouloir contacter directement l hôtel de votre choix. Bien vouloir en cas de difficulté contacter : Anny.BANDOMAAPIMBA@iucn.org avec copie à ccr- rac@pfbc- cbfp.org Visa et Lettre d invitation Toute personne qui désire se rendre en République du Cameroun doit être titulaire d'un passeport valide (6 mois de validité au moins) ou d'un document de voyage qui établit sans équivoque l'identité de la personne.

2 En ce qui concerne les visas d entrée au débarquement, lorsque le participant vient d un pays où il y a une représentation diplomatique du Cameroun, le visa s y obtient avant le voyage à partir du pays de résidence. Dans le cas où les pays de provenance des participants n ont pas de représentations diplomatiques du Cameroun, nous demandons aux participants de le signaler au Comité d organisation au plus tard le 13 mai 2015 et d envoyer via la copie et le numéro du passeport, la date de délivrance et d expiration pour que nous puisions demander une autorisation d obtention des visas à l arrivée aux autorités de l immigration. Les frais de visas ( Fcfa) sont à la charge du Participant. Pour les participants ayant besoin d une lettre d'invitation signée, bien vouloir contacter: Anny.BANDOMAAPIMBA@iucn.org avec copie à dany.pokem@pfbc- cbfp.org et cassettamv@state.gov Visite de terrain - Congo Basin Institute (CBI) Opening Ceremony Les participants sont invités à participer à une visite sur le terrain qui aura lieu le samedi 20 juin 2015 à partir de 10h00 dans l'enceinte du Campus IITA- UCLA à Nkolbisson, Yaoundé. Cette visite tiendra lieu d'ouverture officielle du Congo Basin Institute (CBI). L UCLA et l Institut International d Agriculture Tropicale (IITA) mènent une initiative multi institutionnelle pour le développement du Congo Basin Institute (CBI), qui constituera un modèle de partenariat des universités en matière de développement international. Avec un accent sur le renforcement des capacités à l échelle nationale, le CBI servira de plateforme régionale aux universitaires internationaux qui interviennent dans la région du Bassin du Congo en mettant à disposition des installations de recherche et de formation de classe mondiale et des programmes scientifiques axés sur trois questions clés qui interpellent l Afrique Centrale : l Eau et la Santé, la Sécurité et la Sûreté alimentaires et les changements climatiques. Dirigée par le Centre de Recherche Tropicale de l UCLA, l initiative CBI compte 36 personnels enseignants de l UCLA relevant de 17 Divisions et Ecoles. Au- delà de l UCLA, les partenaires de l IBC comprennent l IITA, un leader mondial de la recherche de solutions à la famine, la malnutrition et la pauvreté ; des enseignants d une demi- douzaine d universités américaines, le Centre Mondial d Agroforesterie (ICRAF), dédié à l amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire et des ressources accrues pour l énergie, l agriculture durable et des services écosystémiques, le Centre Pasteur du Cameroun, un acteur majeur de la prévention et du traitement des maladies infectieuses par des initiatives ayant trait à la recherche, l enseignement et la santé publique et toutes les sept grandes universités du Cameroun. Collectivement, ces partenaires possèdent plus de 150 années d expérience au Cameroun. 4 LOGISTICS FACT SHEET No. 2 15th Meeting of CBFP Partners - June 17 to 19, 2015 in Yaounde Useful Information on Hotel- Visa- Field trip Dear Partner, The CBFP Facilitation thanks you for completing your online registration to take part in the 15th Meeting of CBFP Partners (MoP) and related meetings scheduled to hold from June 15 to 19, 2015 in Yaounde. Registration is now closed and the registration link has been disabled. Accommodation- Hotel The following link provides details on hotels at which the Facilitation has negotiated preferential rates: rac.pfbc- cbfp.org/logistique.html Please note that the hotels recommended in the link above are also those from which transportation will be provided to and from the meeting venue. Participants who opt not to stay in any of these 4 hotels will not be entitled to transportation facilities provided by the Organizing committee. Should you wish to book a room in a hotel of your choice, please be advised that the Organizing committee has reserved a limited number of hotel rooms for participants. Room prices range from CFA 20,000 per night or USD 40 to CFA 110,000FCFA, or USD 220. To book a room, please contact the hotels at the e- mail addresses shown in the above link (see table on logistics page of MOP website: rac.pfbc- cbfp.org/logistique.html). To book a room, please provide the block code for this event, namely PFBC (depending on the list proposed). Rooms will be booked on a "first come, first served" basis and reservations will be valid until May 20, Beyond this date, hotel management will cancel the reservations and make the rooms available to the public. In case of any difficulty, please contact the following: Anny.BANDOMAAPIMBA@iucn.org with copy to ccr- rac@pfbc- cbfp.org Visa and invitation letter Individuals planning to travel to the Republic of Cameroon should have a valid passport (at least 6 months validity) or any other necessary travel document clearly indicating their identity. Regarding entry visas, participants from a country in which Cameroon has a diplomatic mission, are advised to obtain a visa in their country before travelling.

5 Participants from countries in which Cameroon does not have a diplomatic mission are requested to notify the organizing Committee latest on May 13, 2015 and send a photocopy of their passport, showing the passport number, issue and expiry dates, so that we can apply for an entry visa which will be delivered upon arrival by the immigration authorities. Visa fees (50,000 CFAF) will be borne by the participant. For participants in need of a signed invitation letter, please contact: Anny.BANDOMAAPIMBA@iucn.org with copy to dany.pokem@pfbc- cbfp.org and cassettamv@state.gov Field Trip - Congo Basin Institute (CBI) Opening Ceremony Participants are invited to take part in a field visit on Saturday June 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. at the IITA- UCLA Campus in Nkolbisson, Yaoundé. This visit shall serve as the official launch of the Congo Basin Institute (CBI). The UCLA and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) are leading a multi- institutional initiative to develop the Congo Basin Institute (CBI), which will be a model for how universities can partner in international development. With an emphasis on in- country capacity building, the CBI will serve as a regional hub for international scholars working in the Congo Basin region by providing world- class research and training facilities and scientific programs focused on three overarching issues facing Central Africa: Water and Health; Food Security and Safety; and Climate Change. Led by the UCLA Center for Tropical Research, the CBI initiative includes 36 UCLA faculty members from 17 Divisions and Schools. Beyond UCLA, CBI partners include IITA, a global leader in finding solutions to hunger, malnutrition, and poverty; faculty from half a dozen U.S. universities; the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF), dedicated to improving food security and increased resources for energy, sustainable agriculture, and ecosystem services; Centre Pasteur du Cameroun, a longtime major contributor to the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through research, teaching, and public health initiatives; and all seven major universities of Cameroon.
