2 Planned Improvements on Colonel By Drive and Clegg Street Project Highlights The design is part of ongoing efforts to improve safety along the parkways. The crossing study (2011), which included community involvement, identified four priority crossing locations for improvement: Le concept fait partie des efforts continus pour améliorer la sécurité le long des promenades. The 7:00AM-9:00AM/3:30PM-5:30PM left turn prohibition from Colonel By Drive to Clegg Street will remain in effect. The specific operation for this signal is still being designed, however similar intersections typically operate as follows: o The length of green for each street is calculated based on its share of the total traffic volume. o The street with the highest traffic volume has priority, and is by default green. o The traffic signal counts down the priority street s green time internally. o If at the end of the countdown there is a vehicle or bicycle waiting on a detector loop, or a waiting pedestrian has pushed the button, the priority street will transition to red and the side street will get a green light. o Otherwise, the countdown will reset and the priority street will remain green o This means that during peak hours, each street gets its fair share of green time. During off-peak hours, the priority street is always green unless there is someone waiting to cross or waiting on the side street, i.e. on a detector loop or pushed a button. La conception du fonctionnement spécifique pour ce feu de circulation est en cours. Cependant, les intersections similaires fonctionnent généralement comme suit: o La durée de vert pour chaque rue est calculée en fonction de sa part du volume total du trafic. o La rue avec le volume de trafic le plus élevé a la priorité, et a le vert par défaut. o Le feu de circulation fait un décompte intérieurement du temps vert de la rue prioritaire. o Si à la fin du décompte il y a un véhicule ou une bicyclette en attente sur une boucle magnétique, ou un piéton en attente qui a poussé le bouton, la rue prioritaire fera la transition au rouge et la rue latérale fera la transition au vert. o Sinon, le décompte se réinitialise et la rue prioritaire reste vert. o Cela signifie que pendant les heures de pointe, chaque rue obtient une part équitable de temps vert. Pour les heures hors de pointe, la rue prioritaire est toujours vert sauf s il y a quelqu un qui attend pour traverser ou en attente sur la rue latérale, c est à dire sur une boucle magnétique ou un bouton poussé.
