3 LE MOT DU DIRECTEUR GÉNÉRAL INTRODUCTION FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Le respect de la santé, la sécurité et la protection de l environnement (HSE) sont essentiels à une activité d exploration-production durable et acceptable par nos concitoyens. Partie intégrante d un groupe qui a mis la satisfaction des besoins essentiels de la population au coeur de son activité, qu il s agisse du gaz naturel, de l'électricité, de l'eau, des déchets ou des services à l'énergie, GDF SUEZ E&P doit, plus encore que les autres entreprises du secteur, être exemplaire dans le domaine HSE. En matière de santé et de sécurité au travail, GDF SUEZ E&P détient pour la 2 ème année consécutive l un des meilleurs résultats du secteur, avec seulement un accident par million d'heures travaillées (y compris ses contractants) en GDF SUEZ E&P a aussi prouvé son engagement pour l'environnement par des initiatives comme le recyclage des plates-formes en mer du Nord néerlandaise ou la future alimentation en électricité de la plate-forme Amstel aux Pays-Bas à partir du continent, qui permettra de réduire les émissions de CO 2. Health, safety and environmental protection (HSE) are essential factors for any exploration-production activity to be sustainable and acceptable to our fellow citizens. As part of a group whose work is centred on satisfying communitie's essential needs whether these relate to natural gas, electricity, water, waste or services GDF SUEZ E&P, more so than other companies in the sector, has a duty to show exemplary conduct in the HSE area. For the 2 nd consecutive year, in the domain of health and safety, GDF SUEZ E&P is among the best-in-class with only one accident per million hours worked (including contractors work) in GDF SUEZ E&P also demonstrated our commitment to environmental protection through initiatives such as recycling platforms in the Dutch North Sea and the future supply of electricity to the Amstel platform in the Netherlands from the mainland, thus reducing CO 2 emissions. GDF SUEZ E&P reconciles health and safety with development. The future commissioning of Orca and Amstel (The Netherlands), and of Juliet (United Kingdom) in the next months, mark the beginning of a strong period of growth in production. In the longer term, ambitious projects currently in development such as Touat (Algeria), Cygnus (UK), Römerberg (Germany) and Jangkrik (Indonesia) will take the baton and continue this growth. 6 NOTRE POLITIQUE HSE OUR HSE POLICY GDF SUEZ E&P considère la protection de la santé, de la sécurité et de l environnement (HSE) comme une valeur au coeur de ses préoccupations et qui est bénéfique à l ensemble de ses activités. Tous les accidents peuvent être évités et notre objectif est de conduire nos activités sans porter atteinte aux personnes et aux biens, sans créer de dommages à l environnement, et de prévenir tout accident, aujourd hui comme à long terme. SYSTÈME DE MANAGEMENT HSE GDF SUEZ E&P a mis en place un système de management qui suit les recommandations de l industrie E&P, et les principes des normes ISO et OHSAS CULTURE HSE ET LEADERSHIP Tous les membres du management de GDF SUEZ E&P doivent accomplir deux visites de sécurité par an sur les sites opérationnels. Les managers HSE ont en charge d'assister les managers et de leur apporter l'expertise pour promouvoir et mettre en œuvre la Politique et les Principes HSE au sein de GDF SUEZ E&P. Huit indicateurs clé de performance HSE permettent ainsi aux managers de suivre régulièrement les performances dans ce domaine. RESPONSABILITÉ SOCIALE D'ENTREPRISE (RSE) ET DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE La RSE se traduit par la volonté d'intégrer des considérations sociales et environnementales dans ses prises de décisions. Les mesures prises en faveur du Développement Durable et de la RSE sont appliquées conformément aux politiques et orientations du Groupe. Les orientations sont cependant adaptées au contexte local. Ainsi depuis 2004, sur la plate-forme K12-B au Pays-Bas, le CO 2 provenant du gaz produit est réinjecté dans le champ de gaz afin de réduire les émissions. En Allemagne, des opérations de réhabilitation des anciens sites sont en cours et vont se poursuivre pendant plusieurs années en étroite collaboration avec les autorités locales. Ou encore, aux Pays-Bas, l'identification des parties prenantes et des enjeux du projet Amstel, qui concerne l installation d une nouvelle plate-forme à proximité de plages touristiques, a été très utile pour la bonne évolution du projet. All incidents are preventable, and our goal is to conduct our business activities with no harm to people, no damage to the environment and no accident, today and in the future. HSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM GDF SUEZ E&P has put in place an HSE management system in line with E&P industry recommendations and the principles of the ISO and OHSAS standards. HSE CULTURE AND LEADERSHIP All GDF SUEZ E&P managers are committed to performing two safety visits per year to working sites. HSE managers are in charge of assisting line managers and of providing expertise to promote and implement GDF SUEZ E&P s HSE Policy and Principles. Eight HSE Key Performance Indicators enable GDF SUEZ E&P top management to regularly monitor performance in this area. CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT The CSR aims to integrate social and environmental considerations when making decisions. When it comes to Sustainable Development and CSR, actions are implemented in accordance with Group policies. The policies are however adapted to the local context. Since 2004, on the K12-B platform in the Netherlands, CO 2 from the gas produced has been re-injected into the gas field to reduce emissions. In Germany, operations for the rehabilitation of former industrial sites are ongoing and will continue for several years in close collaboration with local authorities. Also, in the Netherlands, mapping of the different stakeholders to install a dialogue on environmental and social issues related to the Amstel oil project - which concerns an installation of the platform near touristic beaches - has been very useful in order to allow good progress of the project. GDF SUEZ E&P Norge AS is also partner in Snøhvit, the first LNG project in Europe. The Barents Sea is a core area for the company, and a new exploration well is planned for 2013/2014. With Gjøa, GDF SUEZ E&P is one of eight production field operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. This gas and oil field in the Norwegian North Sea is one of the most significant recent developments for GDF SUEZ: on its own, it should increase the production of GDF SUEZ E&P by almost 20%. The Gjøa production facility provides many opportunities as a hub for the area, stimulating exploration activity and offering processing and transport capacity for the surrounding fields. GDF SUEZ Bonaparte Pty Ltd is an Australian subsidiary of GDF SUEZ and the operator of the Project. The project aims to produce LNG, using natural gas from the three remote offshore fields, Petrel, Tern and Frigate. The proposed floating LNG production facility will be moored over the Petrel field, in 85 m to 100 m of water, and will process and store the natural gas before offloading it to an LNG carrier.
