2 Informations Complémentaires Full Professor of Biology Chair Job profile : Engineering Program in Biology / hematologic malignancies Ecole Centrale Nantes and Cancer Research Center Nantes-Angers (CRCNA) INSERM UMR 892/CNRS 6299 invite application for a faculty position at the rank of Full Professor of Biology, beginning December 2015, accompanied by a Chair. The position will support a new Engineering Program in Biology on human health. The Ecole Centrale Nantes and CRCNA are seeking a highly innovative and motivated Senior Biologist with outstanding potential in both research and study programs, who will contribute to the overall strength of the Ecole Centrale Nantes Biology program and partnership with Inserm biomedical research laboratories in Nantes. Duties include maintaining an active research program, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, and supervision of graduate students. Teaching schedule is limited to one-third of normal duty for five years, renewable once. The candidate will coordinate at Ecole Centrale Nantes teaching activities in the field of biology, medicine and health. The candidate will set up an introductory course in the first year of the engineering curriculum. The candidate will also propose courses in a bio-engineering track. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program, make leading contributions to cutting-edge cancer genomics in collaboration with wet-lab scientists and hematologists to advance targeted cancer therapies and cancer biology. The candidate will exploit a wide range of genomic data and bioinformatics techniques, and develop new methods to better define hematologic cancer subtypes, identify therapeutic targets, and understand the genetic and epigenetic bases for drug resistance. The initial focus will be on multiple myeloma but the scope of the work could extend to other hematologic malignancies. Members of the hematologic malignancies department of the CRCNA are mainly dedicated to better understanding novel molecular lesions in multiple myeloma with clinical prognostic and therapeutic implications (Magrangeas et al. Leukemia 2013, Bolli et al. Nat Commun. 2014, Amin et al. Leukemia 2014, Moreau et al. J Clin Oncol. 2014). We have access to large number of samples from newly diagnosed and uniformly treated patients through the Intergroupe Francophone du Myélome (IFM), the world leader in cooperative clinical trial in multiple myeloma, massive high-quality data sets, a powerful computing environment and we partner with Dana Farber Cancer Institute to pursue collaborative translational investigations IFM clinical trials. 3 National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM) : The institute is in charge of research on medical biology and health of populations. The Inserm is the only French public research organism dedicated to human health. Its searchers's task is to study every disease, from the most frequent to the rarest. Studies are carried by biological research works, medical research and populations' health studies. The institute's primary mission in human diseases' research is to facilitate exchanges between -fundamental research, whose aim is to know more, without percise aim -clinical research, which is made close to the patient -therapeutical and diagnosis research, whose aim is the study of diseases -public health research, whose aim is to better know health mechanisms by study of groups of populations. Profil du poste : Biologie dans le domaine de la génomique en santé humaine Un poste de Professeur de Biologie dans le domaine de la génomique en santé humaine est ouvert à l Ecole Centrale Nantes et au Centre de Recherche sur le Cancer Nantes-Angers (CRCNA) INSERM UMR 892/CNRS 6299, pour une prise de fonctions au 1er décembre Un(e) candidat(e) confirmé(e) est recherché(e), avec un fort potentiel en recherche et enseignement, pour s investir dans les programmes d enseignement de l Ecole Centrale de Nantes dans le domaine de la biologie, et développer le partenariat avec les laboratoires de l Inserm à Nantes. Le(la) candidat(e) sera à même de conduire des programmes de recherche avec supervision de doctorants et de mener des activités d enseignement au niveau du cycle ingénieur. La charge d enseignement est limitée à 64h eq. TD pour une durée de 5 ans renouvelable une fois. Le(la) candidat(e) coordonnera à l Ecole Centrale de Nantes les activités d enseignement dans le domaine de la biologie-médecine-santé. En particulier un cours d introduction devra être créé en 1ère année du cycle ingénieur. Les autres enseignements seront intégrés dans un parcours de bio-ingénierie. En adéquation avec le profil pédagogique, l enseignant-chercheur viendra renforcer l équipe : Oncogénomique intégrative de la genèse et de la progression du myélome multiple du CRCNA. Son projet de recherche concernera le développement de méthodes d analyses et d intégration des données de génomique, du cistrome et de génomique fonctionnelle des cellules cancéreuses notamment celles de myélome multiple en synergie avec les biologistes expérimentaux et les hématologues du département des hémopathies malignes. Le but de l équipe est de mieux comprendre les mécanismes de régulation de l expression des gènes et leurs effets sur les grandes voies oncogéniques au cours de l initiation et la progression de la maladie avec pour perspective le développement d une médecine de précision pour traiter les patients atteints de myélome multiple. Le projet bénéficiera des liens étroits avec le service d hématologie du CHU de Nantes et l Intergroupe Francophone du Myélome (IFM) et de la collaboration scientifique établie de longue date avec le Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Le candidat exploitera les données de génomique, cistrome et génomique fonctionnelle issues des patients de l IFM.
