4 NEEDS IN TERM OF KNOWLEDGE Products with a very high level of technology, requiring a high level of education in all the main scientific domains ( fluid dynamics, mechanic, materials, system, algorithm, ) preserve the fundamentals Need for some specialised training (aerodynamic, acoustic, thermodynamics, thermomechanic, materials behaviour and processes, optronic, electronic ) Open to emerging technology e.g. Composites, electronic, direct manufacturing, To have research activity inside an education establishment is a real opportunity 3 /

5 NEEDS IN TERM OF SKILLS Technically Familiar with numerical approach Keeping however a good understanding of the physical phenomena Having the reflex to check the rough order of magnitude of the results Having good technology basis Organisationally Able to improve ways of working, using structured approach ( Lean,..) Educated in the system approach 4 /

6 NEEDS IN TERM OF BEHAVIOUR Able to understand and to share a common position Daring to innovate Able to work in a team Able to take his /her responsibility Adaptable 5 /

7 NEEDS IN TERM OF DIVERSITY Different way of thinking to enhance innovation Harmonisation / Equivalence of the curricula To enhance the movements inside Europe but Keep the value of the existing different approaches ( theoretical/ experimental; top down/ bottom up) Keep the equilibrium between generalist and specialist ( for expertise) 6 /

8 NEEDS IN TERM OF GENDER Women are under represented in aeronautics Around 30% having a scientific education Even less are working in the industry Need to attract more women to have access to all the talents (50% of the population) to take profit of some specificity Consensus approach Facing problems and working on them till their final resolution 7 /

9 INDUSTRY RESPONSABILITY IN EDUCATION Industry cooperation during the training is valuable/necessary To give some application case, helping to develop the physic sense To give a first experience and help afterwards integration at work Main ways to cooperate Special courses and conferences at school Partnership between industry and educational institutes (eg réseau Ambassadeurs Safran) Trainees and apprentices for several months working in the industrial context Cooperation on research Support of thesis students on industrial subject 8 /

10 NEEDS IN TERM OF PROFILES «Engineers» is the main need People having a Licence level are mandatory Computation, technology ( catia files), tests High skilled Workers are still necessary for tests, production and overhaul activities 9 /

11 AS A CONCLUSION Keep on with a very high scientific level Favour the development of a good physical and technological sense Pay attention to skills and behaviour Keep different levels of educations 10 /
