1 CALL FOR BURSARY APPLICATIONS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR GENERAL The Canadian Military Intelligence Association (CMIA) offers an annual bursary of $1,000, to provide financial assistance to dependants, of Association Members in good standing, who are pursuing full-time postsecondary education at a Canadian university or equivalent educational institution in Canada. ELIGIBILITY The Bursary is available to all dependants of Members of the Association in good standing, to assist them in offsetting costs associated with embarking on a program of postsecondary education at the undergraduate or equivalent level. Preference may be given to candidates who are commencing the first or second year of full time studies, but consideration will be also given to candidates in other years of study. Eligibility is restricted to Association Member dependents (including spouses) that are: a. pursuing full-time studies in an initial undergraduate degree in a recognized university or a professional certificate or degree in a college or who are seeking a General Equivalency Diploma; b. currently enrolling, or are enrolled for the upcoming academic year, as a full-time student; and c. enrolled full-time in or are enrolling full-time in a program that the Board of Directors finds acceptable. Previous winners of the Bursary are not eligible to apply a second time. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Bursary applications for the academic year are to be submitted no later than 31 August 2016 for the next academic year, beginning September 2016, to the Vice President, Academic Programs, CMIA, PO Box 38, 4338 Innes Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K4A 3W3. Candidates must submit their application, in either official language, to include: a. a completed and signed copy of the application form (Annex A, below); b. a copy of an official letter of acceptance to fulltime studies in the program identified in the application; APPEL A CANDIDATURES DE BOURSES POUR LA ANNÉE SCOLAIRE GENERAL L'Association canadienne du renseignement militaire (ACRM) offre une bourse annuelle de 1000$, à fournir une aide financière aux personnes à charge des membres de l'association en règle, qui poursuivent à temps plein des études postsecondaires dans une université canadienne ou un établissement d'enseignement équivalent au Canada. ADMISSIBILITÉ La bourse est disponible à tous les dépendants de membres de l'association en règle, pour les aider à compenser les coûts associés à se lancer dans un programme d'enseignement post secondaire au premier cycle ou équivalent. La préférence peut accordée aux candidats qui sont à compter de la première ou deuxième année d'études à temps plein, mais aussi il pourra être accordée aux candidats dans les autres années d'études. L'éligibilité est limitée aux personnes à charge Association membres (y compris les conjoints) qui sont: a. poursuite études à temps plein d'un diplôme de premier cycle initial dans une université reconnue ou un certificat professionnel ou un diplôme dans une université ou qui sont à la recherche d'un diplôme d'équivalence générale; b. actuellement inscrits, ou sont inscrits pour la prochaine année scolaire, un étudiant à temps plein, et c. sont inscrits à temps plein ou sont s'inscrire à temps plein à un programme que le Conseil d administration juge acceptable. Les précédents lauréats de la bourse ne sont pas admissibles à un deuxième temps. PROCESSUS D APPLICATION Les demandes de bourses pour la prochaine année scolaire doivent être soumis au plus tard le 31 août 2016 pour la prochaine année scolaire, à partir du Septembre 2016, au Vice-président, programmes académiques, ACRM, PO Box 38, 4338, chemin Innes, Ottawa, Ontario, K4A 3W3. Les candidats doivent soumettre leur demande un des deux langues officielles (français ou anglais), y compris: a. une copie remplie et signée du formulaire de demande (Annexe A, ci-dessous) ; b. une copie d'une lettre officielle d'acceptation de pleines études de temps dans le programme identifié dans la demande; c. a transcript of their high school graduation marks or, if a second, third or fourth year student, a transcript of their all their university marks; d. a curriculum vitae; and

2 e. a short essay (approximately words) indicating why they are pursuing their chosen program of study and how it relates to their career goals. If a successful applicant does not subsequently follow the course of study specified, in the academic year indicated, the award is forfeit and the $1,000 must be returned to the Association. The Board of Directors will determine whether to award the bursary to another deserving applicant or to withhold the grant until the following year. SELECTION PROCEDURE All Bursary applications will be adjudicated by the Academic Programs Committee (APC), chaired by the Vice- President Academic Programs. It will present its recommendations to the Board of Directors not later than 15 September The APC will consider, but not be limited to: a. past academic achievement; b. extra-curricular activity; c. career goals; and e. quality of the application essay. UNSUCCESSFUL SUBMISSIONS All unsuccessful applicants may re-apply in subsequent years, if they still meet the criteria. A student who is awarded a bursary and who subsequently forfeits the award because they were not enrolled in an eligible program may apply for a bursary again the following year. Where the APC finds that no application is acceptable, the Board of Directors may decide to deny the award for the coming academic year. AWARD The Bursary winner will be announced by the President CMIA, not later than 31 October Bursary winners will receive a congratulatory letter from the President of the Association and a cheque for the full amount of the Bursary. Si un candidat ne suit pas le programme d études identifiées, pour l année scolaire indiqué la bourse est forfait et le 1,000$ doit être retourné à l Association. Le Conseil d administration de déterminer si l'octroi de la bourse à un autre candidat méritant ou de refuser la subvention que l'année suivante. PROCÉDURE DE SÉLECTION Toutes les demandes de bourses seront évaluées par le Comité des programmes académiques (CPA), présidé par le vice-président, programmes académiques. Il présentera ses recommandations au Conseil d administration au plus tard le 15 septembre L' CPA considère, mais sans s'y limite: a. rendement scolaire passé; b. activités parascolaires; c. objectifs de carrière; et d. la qualité de l'essai d'application. MOYENS RETENUS Tous les candidats non retenus peuvent présenter une nouvelle demande dans les années subséquentes, si elles répondent toujours aux critères. Un étudiant qui obtient une bourse et qui perd par la suite le prix parce qu'ils ne sont pas inscrits à un programme admissible peut présenter une demande de bourse de nouveau l'année suivante. Lorsque l'cpa constate qu'aucune demande n est acceptable, le Conseil d administration peut décider de refuser le prix pour la prochaine année scolaire. PRIX Le gagnant de bourses sera annoncé par le Président ACRM, au plus tard le 31 Octobre Gagnants de bourses recevront une lettre de félicitations du Président de l'association et un chèque pour le montant total de la bourse.
