Participating in th school s parnts association (APÉ or PAC) is on of thm. Rol of th APÉ Th rol of th school s parnts association is to rprsnt and promot parnts intrsts. It must oprat within st paramtrs, such as th Education Act, th CSF s (th Francophon ducation authority s) policis, and th various collctiv agrmnts. It can mak rcommndations to th CSF, th school administration and th taching staff on any school-rlatd topic, with th xcption of thos rlatd to th school s Partnrs Committ. Th APÉ is also a sourc of information for ducation authoritis rgarding parnts concrns and th school s nds. In partnrship with th school s Partnrs Committ mmbrs, th APÉ hlps to implmnt th School Plan (projt éducatif). Th association promots school policis and supports fforts aiming to dvlop activitis dsignd to nrich th ducational xprinc. Ds magasins locaux ont fourni du matéril t un parnt «artist» a mêm donné un coup d main pour aidr ls nfants à fabriqur ds carraux d jardin. Un grand variété d légums, hrbs t fruits ont été plantés t, grâc à un saison d été xcptionnllmnt bll t à d généruss «famills arrosuss», l jardin a été un énorm succès! Early last May, many hard working childrn and parnts from our school cam togthr to crat a raisd bd community gardn. Local businsss donatd supplis, and an artistic parnt vn pitchd in to hlp th childrn mak gardn tils. Various vgtabl, hrb, and fruit crops wr plantd, and thanks to an unsasonably bautiful growing sason and gnrous watring familis, th gardn was a hug succss! In lat Sptmbr, th childrn cookd thir potatos and njoyd thm togthr. Th gardn committ was so imprssd with th rsults that two mor bds will b addd this spring. Each tachr will b abl to claim a bd for his or hr class. Franco-nord plans to start composting in 2012 and rmain truly grn for yars to com. Th school is also vry proud of its nw cultur lab, which provids all of th studnts with individualizd cultural opportunitis. Bouchard, un nom plutôt francophon. Quand j voyag dans l Est t qu j rncontr d autrs francophons, ils sont toujours surpris d apprndr qu j suis originair d Victoria. Un fill qui parl l français aussi bin qu ux, mais qui vint d l autr bout du Canada? Un franco-colombinn? Impossibl, ils s disnt. Ptit ancdot : lors d mon séjour à Sudbury, n Ontario, où j m étais rndu pour participr aux Jux d la francophoni canadinn, j ai rncontré un Québécois. Lorsqu j lui ai dit qu j vnais d la Colombi-Britanniqu, ll m a répondu, tout surpris : «J n savais pas qu il y avait ds francophons là-bas.» Comm si on était un spèc inconnu qu ls scintifiqus n avaint pas ncor découvrt! Et pourtant nous xistons bl t bin : n formation, n évolution! J ai passé tout mon nfanc dans la mêm écol francophon : l écol Victor-Brodur. C st dans ctt écol qu j ai compris l importanc d la francophoni, surtout dans un miliu anglophon. Comm bonus, on s sntait spécial d pouvoir parlr un langu «magiqu» qu prsonn d autr n comprnait lorsqu on était n vill. C st dans ctt écol qu j ai pu acquérir ls outils nécssairs pour fonctionnr dans un communauté minoritair. C st aussi l ndroit où j ai rncontré ds profs plus qu parfaits qui voulaint qu lurs élèvs réussissnt dans la vi. Au sin du CSF (Consil scolair francophon d la C.-B.), il y a un multitud d famills qui s crént. Il y a ls famills d parnts qui soutinnnt cs écols. Il y a ls profssurs qui tntnt d offrir la millur éducation n français à lurs élèvs. Il y a l Consil junss francophon d la Colombi-Britanniqu (CJFCB) qui aid à nglobr tous ls élèvs du CSF dans un énorm famill. Et finalmnt, il y a ls étudiants, qui s rncontrnt pour l plaisir t aussi pour l «businss» (L Résau Junss), tout n français. Pour moi, c st vraimnt au scondair, rmpli d plaisir t d rirs, où j ai u mon déclic : l momnt où j ai réalisé l importanc d la francophoni dans ma vi d tous ls jours. Cci fut grâc à cs famux Jux d la francophoni canadinn t un multitud d autrs activités offrts par l CJFCB. J ai participé à la prmièr t à la duxièm édition d la Ligu d improvisation francocolombinn (la LIFC), où j ai pu jour un maman ncint, un vach, un éléphant magiqu, t d autrs prsonnags t animaux bizarrs t normaux. C st mon implication dans cs activités qui m a aidé à sortir d ma coquill t à n plus êtr aussi timid! C st aussi grâc à cs activités qu on put avoir ds bons amis à Klowna, à Vancouvr, à Pnticton t mêm à Comox! Si on voulait fair l tour d la Colombi-Britanniqu, c srait possibl t on n aurait pas bsoin d lour d chambrs d hôtl!
