Le poste exige de plus l obtention d une cote de fiabilité ou une cote de sécurité secrète. 2 Ce stage consiste en un poste à temps plein d une durée de 3 ½ mois au sein de la Direction générale des documents gouvernementaux ou de la Direction générale des archives privées. Les postes sont offerts à l administration centrale de Bibliothèque et Archives Canada à Gatineau (Québec). La Direction générale des documents gouvernementaux et la Direction générale des archives privées sont responsables de l évaluation, de l acquisition et du traitement des archives du gouvernement fédéral ainsi que des archives privées d importance nationale. Les stagiaires perfectionneront leurs habiletés en archivistique ou en sciences de l information et auront l occasion de travailler avec des archivistes d expérience. Tâches et responsabilités Les stagiaires seront appelés à effectuer diverses tâches liées à la gestion de l information, telles que : Participer à l évaluation des documents archivistiques. Acquérir, classer et décrire des archives gouvernementales et privées selon les normes professionnelles et institutionnelles. Élaborer des guides thématiques et d autres outils de recherche spécialisée. Collaborer à l offre de service de référence spécialisée. Participer à des projets de diffusion. Fournir un travail de recherche accompagné d options pour répondre aux priorités stratégiques de BAC. Qualifications requises Avoir complété avec succès une année de maîtrise dans un programme en archivistique, en sciences de l information, en bibliothéconomie, en histoire, en sciences sociales, en art et lettres ou dans un domaine connexe. Être inscrit à un programme d'enseignement coopératif/d'internat reconnu par la Commission de la fonction publique du Canada (CFP) ( Expérience en recherche, analyse et synthèse d information portant sur l histoire et la société canadiennes. Expérience de travail en archivistique ou en gestion de l information (constitue un atout). Connaissance de la théorie, des principes et des méthodes en gestion de l information, en archivistique et/ou en bibliothéconomie. Capacité d organiser et de planifier. Capacité de travailler en équipe. Capacité de communiquer efficacement par écrit. Capacité de communiquer efficacement de vive voix.

3 Compétences dans les langues officielles Anglais ou français essentiel. La capacité de communiquer dans les deux langues officielles constitue un atout. May-August 2017 (3 1/2 months full-time) (length of employment may be determined by co-op program requirements) $17.92 to $22.54 per hour, 37.5 hours per week The position requires the successful completion of the first year of a master s program in archival studies, information studies, library science, history, social sciences, humanities, or a related field. It also requires a Reliability Status or a Secret security clearance. Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will assist the successful candidate(s) in making arrangements to obtain the necessary authorized level. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed. Job summary This placement is a 3 1/2 month full-time position at LAC, in the Government Records Branch or in the Private Archives Branch. The location of work is LAC headquarters in Gatineau, QC. The Government Records Branch and the Private Archives Branch are responsible for the evaluation, acquisition as well as processing of federal government archival records and of private archives of national significance to Canadian society. Candidates will enhance their skills in the field of archival or information studies and have the opportunity to work with experienced archivists. Duties and responsibilities Students will participate in a range of information management activities. Specific projects may include: Assisting in the appraisal of records. Acquiring, arranging, and describing government archival records and private archives according to professional and institutional standards. Developing thematic guides and other specialized research tools. Contributing to specialized reference services. Taking part in dissemination projects. Providing research and options to support strategic priorities at LAC. Essential Qualifications Successful completion of the first year of a master s program in archival studies, information studies, library science, history, social sciences, humanities, or a related field. Registration in a program of cooperative education recognized by the Canada Public Service ( Experience in research, analysis and synthesis of information related to Canadian history and society.

5 Experience working in the field of archives or information management (considered an asset). Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of recordkeeping, information management, and archives. Ability to plan and organize. Ability to work in a team. Ability to communicate effectively in writing. Ability to communicate effectively orally. Official Language Proficiency English or French essential. Ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset.
